These aren't symptoms invented to fit a framework. They are the consistent markers of what Scripture describes as spiritual opposition - active, specific, and operating through real mechanisms.
The Bible describes a world under contested authority - where real spiritual forces operate through real mechanisms, on specific grounds, against specific people and families. The heaviness has a source. The patterns have a cause. The attacks have a logic.
Spiritual opposition attaches to grounds - unconfessed sin, broken agreements, generational openings, trauma that created an entry point. Where there are grounds, there is access. Where access is closed, there is nothing to hold onto.
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
James 4:7 - submit first, then resist. The sequence is explicit.
He didn't just teach about spiritual forces. He addressed them, publicly, repeatedly, in front of the most skeptical audiences of his day. And then he gave the same authority to his followers - not the ordained, not the specially gifted. Anyone who follows him. That commission hasn't expired.
The gifts of the Spirit aren't decorative. They're the means Jesus gave his followers to carry out a specific mission - healing, deliverance, proclaiming the kingdom. Which means the people who carry those gifts most strongly are the ones who most directly threaten what opposes that mission.
The enemy doesn't target people randomly. A person with active discernment can identify what's operating in a room. A seer perceives what prefers to stay hidden. Someone with gifts of healing or authority can reverse what spiritual opposition has produced. These people are high-value targets - not because they're weak, but because the gift makes them dangerous to what opposes the kingdom.
