Before anything, let's lay down some basic facts...

AGE OF CONSENT: 16 Years of Age

PROSTITUTION STATUS: Prostitution itself is legal, but several surrounding activities are not. Brothels were outlawed in 1956, but they live on in the form of "Clubs" or "Saunas"; there are also "Bares Americanos" which usually require that you buy several expensive drinks for the lady before business is discussed.

PORNOGRAPHY: Sold openly in most book stands; non mainstream material like for example zoophilia and BDSM is also legal, much like in the Netherlands.

Ok, now for the really interesting bit...everyone knows that prostitution happens in almost any city, including Barcelona.   As we've mentioned before, the prostitues are out there! In the heart of Barcelona, flooding the Ramblas (and not only) after 2am, totally transforming Barcelona from day to night. If you are a group of guys walking through the Ramblas, it is guaranteed that at least one of them will grab you and ask, very blatantly, if you want sex. Our advice: Run. The most likely thing is that they will go for your pocket to try to steal your wallet or mobile. Or they will take you somewhere dodgy and steal from you there. Either way, don't do it and beware...

But that wouldn't be fair...would it? What about those that want some action or are looking for some extra excitement? It's in thinking of you, and your...well being...that we have decided to include here some names/places just for the thing... But for God's sake, be clean and be SAFE! You never know...

Oh and another thing, we have not personally been to these places, so we cannot really comment on them, but we assume that they WON'T BE CHEAP, especially the 'good' ones. Maybe some people will add comments themselves later, who knows...
